Cloth, Vinyl & Canvas Seat Upholstery

Hard-wearing seats in cloth, vinyl, rip-stop canvas or cotton canvas, cut and stitched to fit your vehicle. Built for bakkies, work vehicles and fleets that take a beating.

The Detail

Built For Vehicles That Work For A Living

Not every vehicle needs leather. Bakkies, work vans, taxis and site vehicles take a beating, and they need seats that can take it. We recover them in cloth, vinyl or rip-stop canvas, cut and stitched by hand to fit your exact make and model.

Rip-stop canvas is the toughest of the three. It is stronger than standard vinyl, and the woven grid running through it stops a tear from spreading if it ever gets caught. That is why it is our pick for trucks and mining vehicles.

Your seats are made over three to five days, and we only need your car for one day, on fitment day. If we do not already have a template for your vehicle, you can drive in and wait about an hour while we fit temporary covers, then take your car home until fitment.

About the warranty: we do not offer a warranty on cloth, vinyl or canvas work. Genuine automotive leather is the only material we guarantee, and it carries 3 years on the leather and stitching. If a warranty matters to you, have a look at our leather seat upholstery.
No template for your car? We pattern from your original covers, so we need them first. Either leave the car with us for three to five days, or drive in and wait about an hour while we fit temporary covers, then drive home and come back for fitment.
Colours: grey, black and beige, though availability depends on what our suppliers have in stock. We confirm your colour with your quote before any work starts.

Which Material Is Right For You?

All four are cut and stitched to fit your vehicle. The difference is how they wear, how they look, and what they cost.

Cloth

R5,090 / R7,240

2 seater / 5 seater

Most cars leave the factory on cloth. If yours is worn, torn or faded, this puts it back the way it was without moving you up to leather money.

  • Best forEveryday cars, and anyone who wants a seat that stays cooler to sit on than vinyl
  • ColoursGrey, black, beige
  • WarrantyNone

Vinyl

R5,090 / R7,240

2 seater / 5 seater

Wipes clean and shrugs off weather, which is why it is what we recommend for motorcycle seats. It stretches as we fit it, so it wraps a seat smoothly and reads close to leather from a step back.

  • Best forSpills, mud and wet weather
  • ColoursGrey, black, beige
  • WarrantyNone

Rip-Stop Canvas

R5,090 / R7,240

2 seater / 5 seater

Stronger than standard vinyl. A grid is woven through it, so if it ever does tear, the tear stops instead of running. Built for punishment rather than looks, and it sits with some folds because canvas does not stretch.

  • Best forTrucks, mining and site vehicles
  • ColoursGrey, black, beige
  • WarrantyNone
Premium

Cotton Canvas

R8,050 / R12,950

2 seater / 5 seater

Takes just as much punishment as rip-stop, but looks closer to cloth than to workwear. Companies are the ones who mostly pick it: construction firms and businesses with vehicles on the road, where drivers go through anything cheaper.

  • Best forCompany vehicles that still have to look the part
  • ColoursGrey, black, beige
  • WarrantyNone

Fleet & Industrial

Trucks And Mining Vehicles, Done In One Go

Mining vehicles, trucks, site bakkies and delivery fleets are hard on their seats. Grit, tools, sun, and people climbing in and out in workwear all day. Standard vinyl gives up long before the vehicle does.

Rip-stop canvas is stronger than standard vinyl, and it has a grid woven through it, so when something does catch and tear, the tear stops at the grid instead of running the length of the seat. One snag does not write off a seat.

Cotton canvas takes just as much punishment, but it looks closer to cloth than to workwear. It costs considerably more, and it is mostly companies who go for it. Construction firms, and businesses with vehicles out on the road all day, where drivers go through anything cheaper and the vehicle still has to look like yours.

Either way, we can take multiple vehicles at once, so your fleet is not off the road one at a time.

Good To Know

Cloth, Vinyl & Canvas Questions

How much does it cost?

Cloth, vinyl and rip-stop canvas are R5,090 for a 2 seater and R7,240 for a 5 seater. Cotton canvas is R8,050 for a 2 seater and R12,950 for a 5 seater, in line with our leather work, because it is a tougher and better looking material.

Truck and mining vehicles are quoted on request, since it depends on the vehicle and how many you are bringing us. We confirm the exact price with your quote before any work starts.

Do you offer a warranty?

No. We do not offer a warranty on cloth, vinyl or canvas work.

Genuine automotive leather is the only material we guarantee, and it carries 3 years on the leather and stitching. If the guarantee matters to you, have a look at our leather seat upholstery.

How long does it take?

Your seats are made in our workshop over three to five days, and we only need your car for one day, on fitment day.

If we do not already have a template for your vehicle, you can either leave the car with us for three to five days, or drive in and wait about an hour while we fit temporary covers, then take your car home until fitment.

Truck and mining vehicles take roughly three to five days too, and we can take several at the same time so your fleet is not off the road one at a time.

Which material should I choose?

Cloth and vinyl cost exactly the same, so it comes down to how the vehicle gets used. Vinyl wipes clean and handles wet and mud. Cloth stays cooler to sit on.

Rip-stop canvas is the toughest of the three and is what we fit to trucks, mining and site vehicles, though it sits with some folds because canvas does not stretch. Cotton canvas is just as tough but looks a lot better, which is why companies tend to pick it. If you are not sure, send us photos on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we would fit.

What colours can I get?

Grey, black and beige. Availability depends on what our suppliers have in stock at the time, so we confirm your colour with your quote before any work starts.

Do you repair cloth, vinyl and canvas seats?

Yes. If only a panel or two has gone, there is no need to redo the whole set. Repairs are priced on the extent of the damage, and they are a single day.

For cloth we shade match at the shop first, so the new panel sits right against the rest of the seat rather than standing out. Have a look at our seat repairs page, or send us photos and we will give you an estimate.
